Festival of Volunteering 2017

We're delighted to be one of eight organisations helping to bring the Festival of Volunteering 2017 to Stirling.  

This new festival will be a celebration of all the amazing volunteering work that goes on in the city of Stirling and a great chance to find out what volunteering can do for you.

Volunteering really is for everyone and we hope over time to be able to claim Stirling as the UK’s first City of Volunteering. The festival team have a range of events and activities planned for September from a Family Day in Kings Park to Stirling Soup 4 the Festival of Volunteeirng will have something for everyone so join us and join in!

Join us at the Festival Family Day

WHEN: Saturday 23rd September
TIME: 1.00pm - 4.30pm
WHERE: King's Park, Stirling
TICKETS: No tickets required, everyone is welcome! 

Come along to King’s Park for an afternoon of fun! There will be lots of local organisations giving demonstrations of their work and showcasing volunteering opportunities for you to get involved in. There will also be bouncy castles, an arts & crafts tent, children's storytelling workshops, sports demos, water walking, music, entertainment and much much more...

Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services will also be there to answer any questions you might have around PVG.

  • Volunteering Networking Event
    WHEN: Thursday 21st September
    TIME: 4.30pm - 6.30pm
    WHERE: Kilted Kangaroo, 9 Upper Craigs, Stirling, FK8 2DG

    Free tickets are now available for the Festival's social get together. 
    As you volunteer and/or are involved in managing volunteers in the Stirling area, you are invited to come along, relax and chat about all things volunteering! (Catering provided) 
    So join us at the Kilted Kangaroo, Thursday 21st September to kick off the Festival with a blether over a drink and some food!

  • Cycle Treasure Hunt
    WHEN: Saturday 23rd September (Before the Family Day)
    TIME: 9.30am -12.30pm
    WHERE:  From Recyke-a-bike to Kings Park

    Starting the day off at
     Recyke-a-bike you'll get a hot drink & hot roll before cycling off to the Treasure hunt at 10.30am. The Cycle Treasure Hunt itself will be based round the University grounds but then you'll go on to a 6 mile led ride around Stirling to finish at the Family Day in Kings Park. Fun for all the family, you'll see the city and get some fresh air!
