About
Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival was created by members of the community as a response to a lack of provision for and a need for opportunities within film, film education and the visual arts in the region. Eight years later and the organisation is still working hard to increase community cohesion and civic pride and to provide development opportunities in Berwick and local area through its annual celebration of moving image and year-round projects. With 7 editions to date,BF&MAF has attracted growing audiences and participants for an increasingly high profile programme of film screenings, free video installations and new commissions, high quality, hands-on workshops and participatory activities for the general public, especially for young people and for the older generation. The company benefits over 6000 members of the public and engages approximately 350 active participants each year. All this takes place in various unique historic sites across and within the Town Walls.
