The charity works with vulnerable children and young people alone and at risk on the streets in the UK and further afield, in the UK 1 in 11 young people run away from home each year and 1 in 6 of these sleep rough. These children and young people run from violent and abusive situations at home. Railway children aims to provide them with protection and opportunity and ensure that they have sufficient access to service delivery before, during and after they have run away. The reality is that these young people run away from one community to another and some of them may pass through or originate from our community.
