Emmaus House was opened in 2009 as a place of hospitality and prayer at the heart of the city of Edinburgh. The house is home to a small Christian community which offers a welcome to people of all faiths or none (and irrespective of gender, marital status or sexual orientation) who come for retreat or holiday, spiritual direction, counselling, workshops and quiet days, and is also used by an increasing number of local groups for worship and meetings of various kinds. Our vision is that Emmaus’ will be a place of welcome, encounter and new beginnings as people meet, break bread together, and share the common experiences of the human journey.
