This is a six month project funded by the Midlothian Council’s Innovation Fund. It is a pilot programme that is delivering intensive personal development for residents in a care home. Two Personal Development Workers deliver the programme. The objectives of the programme include: • establishing individual and community identity • enhancing wellbeing and self worth • increasing levels of engagement in their chosen communities • increasing social networking capacity and levels of activity • evidencing value and impact. We are looking for volunteers that can complement the work of the Personal Development Workers. This would focus on supporting the older person to re-engage with skills, interests, a sense of identity, raising expectations and broadening opportunities.
