About
PDSA is the largest veterinary charity in Britain, providing free treatment to the pets of eligible owners who cannot afford private fees. In 45 major towns and cities in Britain, PDSA provides free veterinary treatment at its own PetAid hospitals. In communities too small to justify a PetAid hospital, PDSA has arranged for over 200 local private practices to provide free treatment on its behalf to those who qualify for PDSA help. These are referred to as PDSA PetAid practices. Eligible pet owners must pre-register their pets with PDSA PetAid practices in advance. Because PDSA's veterinary services are funded entirely by donations from the public, all owners are actively encouraged to make a contribution towards the cost of their pet's treatment. Who qualifies for free treatment? Each location covered by PDSA PetAid practice has its own catchment area, defined by postcodes, and pet owners who live outside the area cannot register.
