The aim of the active schools programme is to make more children, more active, more often by providing young people with sufficient opportunities to take part in physical activity and sport allowing them to make a positive contribution towards their health. Active Schools strives to give school aged children the tools, motivation and opportunities to be more active throughout their school years and into adulthood. These opportunities are available before, during and after school, as well as in the wider community.
