To relieve the loneliness of elderly people on the basis of a small group outing once a month on a Sunday afternoon in a volunteer's car to tea in a volunteer hosts home. Loneliness in old age is a very debilitating condition and, it is now well recognised that it is closely linked to ill health, and the simple service we offer is very effective in relieving this and has a significant impact on the quality of life of this vulnerable group.
