About
ChildLine is the free telephone helpline for children and young people and is delivered in Scotland by Children 1st on behalf of NSPCC. The ChildLine Schools Service is a new initiative being delivered across the UK. Research undertaken by the NSPCC has shown that the majority of children who contact ChildLine for advice, information and support are over 11 years old. However, we know that the majority of children on the child protection register are under the age of 11. The ChildLine Schools Service focuses on primary school children, with a particular focus on 7-11 year olds. Our aim is to visit every primary school in the UK at least every two years and start a societal change that will bring about a long term reduction in child cruelty.
