The aims of Border Youth Theatre are to promote, improve and advance public education and to simulate public interest in the theatre and performing arts, particularly among young people. In furtherance thereof: A) To provide a permanent Youth Theatre in the Borders B) To encourage equal opportunities and participation in theatre among young Border people C) To develop the literary and linguistic skills of young people D) To develop the creative skills of young people through the craft of theatre E) To encourage young people to work together as a community and, in doing so experience the practical workings of the theater while respecting its skills and disciplines F)To provide an opportunity for young people to work with professional tutors, artists and craftspeople.
