Bennie Museum is a small independent local heritage museum run and staffed by volunteers. It comprises 2 houses in a row which were saved from demolition and restored by volunteers. Although the interior is now open plan, many of the original fittings and fixtures have been refurbished and replaced. The roof is pantiled and the whole building is stone. The collection of artefacts numbers close to 7,000 items all with an association to Bathgate from the Victorian and Edwardian, 1st and 2nd World War eras as well as some Roman, 18th Century and Georgian examples covering the everyday aspects of life in the town.
