AFS is an international, voluntary, non-government, non-profit oganisation that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help more people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. AFS has been running programmes since 1947 and is the only organisation of its kind to receive a citation from the UN in recognition of its work for world youth. AFS is a partner in the international AFS network of 55 different countries worldwide.
