About Opportunity
Duties will include but not be limited to: •Coming up with new and exciting ideas for events and helping turn those ideas into reality •Sourcing potential event sponsors and gift donors •Preparing proposals for potential event sponsors and gift donors •Liaising with volunteers, sponsors and event participants •Sending out thank you letters post event •Assisting at events as required •Coordinating design of promotional materials for the event including invite, flier, poster etc. This will involve working closely with our marketing and design volunteers •Researching all elements relating to events including venues, ticketing agencies, online promotional resources, sponsors, prizes etc •Creating and maintaining a database system of suppliers, sponsors, venues, supporters, volunteers and participants •Ad-hoc tasks when required People interested in this opportunity should Email us or telephone us. About Mision Mexico (UK)
Support a children’s refuge in Mexico through fundraising, volunteer coordination and administration.
Skills & Experience
Ideally, you will: •Be someone able to work flexible hours (weekends and evenings included) – able to start immediately – and provide invaluable support •Excellent planning and organisational skills with an ability to meet deadlines •Experience of organising events in a paid or voluntary capacity •Strong verbal communication skills •Strong written communication skills with ability to adapt writing to different audiences •Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office •Ability to use own initiative to complete tasks independently •Flexible approach to role and able to work well in a small team •Willingness to work some evenings or weekends if required •Have a demonstrable interest in events management, ideally with a fundraising element •Be reliable, trustworthy and creative – we will value the skills that you bring and are keen for you to have a hands-on approach to help make final decisions A 2nd or 3rd year student completing an events management or related course would be desirable. As would a professional looking for some pro bono work to add to their profile!
Travel Details
Most of the work will be done via phone/email with some occasional meetings in the city centre.

Training and Induction Details
Induction would involve a meeting with the Chairman re: the history of the charity and the objectives of what we are doing now. Upcoming projects and work to be done will also be reviewed.
