About Opportunity
As an Initiative Centre gallery assistant you will have the opportunity to meet with a wide range of people from the local area and visitors from the UK, Europe, America - the world! You will be a polite, interested and enthusiastic individual who is happy to deal with customer and visitor enquiries. Attention will be given to customers as soon as they enter the premises and up until the point they leave. You will work alongside our experienced volunteers who will support and guide you as you learn about the wonderful craftwork on sale to the public. As part of your volunteering experience you will advise and guide customers, make sales, take payment, keep sales records of all purchases and replace sold display stock as instructed. Light cleaning duties - dusting, hoovering etc are also part of the job

Ability to work with others, friendly personality, ability to handle cash & maintain basic sales records. An interest in crafts is desirable but not essential.
Travel Details
The Initiative Centre, 86 Main Street, West Kilbride, KA23 9AP West Kilbride is serviced by local bus companies and is on the Largs/Greenock route. There is also an hourly train service, which operates on the Largs rail line.
