About Opportunity
1. General sales floor duties (customer service, stock replenishment, till operation, security awareness) 2. Merchandising and display (could include designing and completing promotional windows displays) 3. General stockroom duties (sorting, preparation, pricing, health and safety). 4. Departmental supervision (e.g. setting up an event or permanent department to attract customers (clothing/ books/ household etc) 5. Administrative duties (ordering and receipt of New Goods, related paperwork, checking statements, stocktakes etc. Weekly branch paperwork and filing) 6. Market Research (analysis of competition, local trading, research retail environment through the national press, customer surveys) 7. Recruiting additional volunteers (could be through contact with local, colleges, schools, libraries etc)

About Castle Douglas Civic Events Committee
To provide entertainment for the people of Castle Douglas and continue the traditions of the town. We organise the civic week activities, Douglas day parade, halloween fun night and The civic week ball. We hold fund raising activities though out the year.
