About Opportunity

This opportunity is open to anyone interested in doing reception and administration work. The volunteer will work mainly in the evenings as most clients come for Counselling after work. Successful applicants would be expected to work 2-3 hours each week and be committed to volunteering for a period of 12 months or more. The kind of work can be explained under 4 headings:- General Reception Work.This involves meeting and greeting clients at the door and taking them into the correct room for counselling. Also escorting clients from the premises. Informing national office of client attendance. General Housekeeping.This involves making sure the Centre is clean and tidy, some light dusting and vacuuming and tidying of rooms. Making sure that all counselling rooms have the correct resources needed for the therapeutic work. Administration.This involves keeping Centre diary up-to-date. Some filing and photocopying. Also being familiar with FOCCUS admin and the management of Initial appointments. (Training Given) Chaperone.This is similar to General Reception duties except only the Receptionist and the Counsellor are in the building and the Receptionist by being their acts as cover to enable counselling to take place.
