About Opportunity

Currently looking to recruit volunteers in Moray to help promote the Government's Zero Waste campaign, Stop the Drop, Peat Free Compost, Love Food Hate Waste and Recycle Now. More information on these campaigns cqn be found on www.aberdeenforward.org. Full training on the campaigns will be given. Other types of training will be available when and if applicable. We are looking to recruit a number of volunteers in Moray to create a network who will meet up, attend events together etc.Volunteers will be encouraged to attend local events, organise events, laise with the locaal authority and other local organisations. Volunteers will be able to undertake a number of activites from conducting talks, events, attending events or local group for chats, helping individuals to recyle/compost, put up posters, distribute leaflets etc.

A charity that initiates and supports enviromental and recycling projects. Aberdeen Forward supports the Zero Waste Scotland Volunteer Programme which aims to create a community based partnership of volunteers who worl together across Scotland a Zero Waste Society where resources are valued and used responsibly.

Skills & Experience

A knowlodge of gardening, recycling, enviromental topics would be advantageous but by no means essential.

Training and Induction Details

Initial introduction training to Aberdeen Forward and the campaigns, policies etc. Ongoing training will be given as/when applicable but can also be identified by volunteers. Volunteer Coordinator Moray will be source of ongoing support.
