About Opportunity
An ideal opportunity for those who have been involved in Scouts, Cubs or have an interest in both indoor and outdoor activities and working with young people. The Scout Leader will work with the Assistant Scouts Leaders, to plan an implement a balanced programme of activities. This will mainly be around the weekly hall meeting, but also over camps. The Scout leaders will also liaise with the Cub and Explorer sections to ensure that links are maintained between the sections. You will work with other Scout Leaders and other sections leaders in the group. Support and advice will also be provided from the District Scouts, that the Group belongs to. A full training Scheme is provided.

About 60th Morningside Scout Group
The aim of Scouting is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, and as members of their local, national and International communities. The Scout group brings together and provides activities for 6 to 14 year olds in the area.
Skills & Experience
An interest in working with Young People and some enthusiasm and the creativity to assist in the creation of a programme. An interest in the outdoors would be useful, but is not essential. As the leader will be part of a team, different interests helps to provide a more balanced programme.
Travel Details
The Scout Section meets on a Friday evening, 7.30 till 9.00pm at St Fillan’s Church, Buckstone Drive EH10. Camps can held locally in Bonaly or much further a field.
Restrictions
Applicants will be required to complete some basic training on taking up the role. (Child Protection, First Aid etc)

Training and Induction Details
A couple of Online modules are provided, together with a session with a Training advisor to look at build a training plan that is appropriate for the individual. Other models are offered longer term. E.g. 6 hour First Aid Course.

The Group will not pay for travel to the Edinburgh venues for its activities. Any one-off expenses claimed must be vouched for.

From 2 hours a week. (During Term time). Can be a number days when a camp is run.
