About Opportunity
We live in challenging times and it will undoubtedly be more challenging for some than others. There is the recession, welfare reform and public spending cuts. Vulnerable people are exposed already. Others may find themselves in difficulty for the first time in their lives. Maryhill CAB has ran for 30 years, dealt with almost half a million cases and secured £19.5 million for clients. We want to continue to be relevant to the needs of the people living in our area and we need a Board of Directors to effectively drive the organisation forward. The Board is responsible for making sure the organisation meets requirements in terms of company law, funders monitoring/reporting, employment law, and health and safety regulations. But more than that, the Board needs to have drive and energy. It needs to be ambitious. And it needs to seek to influence those that take decisions. With this in place it will be able to make a real and meaningful impact on the quality of lives of those living in the area. **HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?** If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. Alternatively you can register your interest directly using the Register Interest facility. When will I receive a response?: 3 working days for arrangements to send an application form by post. How soon after contact will my volunteering begin?: 4 – 6 weeks

Skills & Experience
If you are passionate about social justice and in people receiving what they are entitled to then you will be interested in our work. We want Board members who want to help make Maryhill CAB an effective, influential and outcome driven organisation that is continually improving and taking account of an ever changing external environment. Put simply we want to be the best CAB in Scotland. Board members play a crucial role in setting strategic organisational direction and in creating a positive, ambitious, can do attitude across the whole of Maryhill CAB.
