About Opportunity
Some older people can find that they have few social outlets, but also have a lot to give, and would benefit from someone giving some time as a volunteer to link them back into the community. There is a wide range of ways that volunteers could help to make this happen, this may be accompanying someone for going for a walk, going shopping or to the café, They may want to try something new or find ways to share their skills and knowledge by joining a group or club, and others may want someone to talk with at home. A little human contact makes the world of difference to an isolated older person. Volunteers can provide practical help to keep older people feeling welcome and included in their community.
