About Opportunity

•To attend meetings of community groups and associations to give presentations on our work, typically 30 minutes in duration. •To attend fundraising events organised by external groups/individuals to give an overview of our work, typically 5 minutes. •To attend cheque presentations at various locations e.g. schools, offices and publicly thank donors. •To set up a sales table at each event, selling YCF merchandise. •To reconcile the sales and income generated and return cash and stock figures to YCF staff promptly.

About Yorkhill Children's Foundation

To provide extra services and equipment to sick children treated at Yorkhill Hospital

Skills & Experience

Public speaking experience is desirable but not essential.Confidence in meeting the general public is essential. Ability to communicate with people of all backgrounds is essential. Ability to manage a sales table and reconcile the cash and stock. A driving licence and own car is essential. Groups can include religious organisations e.g. Church of Scotland Women’s Guilds, Rotary Clubs, Inner Wheel Clubs, WRI groups.The majority of meetings are held on weekday evenings, with fundraising events mostly being held at weekends.

External venues throughout Glasgow and West of Scotland

Training and Induction Details

Full training is given on public speaking, presentation structure and content. An annual refresher meeting is held to update on presentation content. A tour of projects supported by YCF will be arranged.Training will be conducted as group
