About Opportunity

Guide Dogs for the Blind require a Polish speaking volunteer who has good verbal English to work with a member of Guide Dogs staff and a visually impaired gentleman in Motherwell. You will be directly supporting the preparation training in order for the gentleman to receive a Guide Dog. The opportunity is likely to be twice a week over the next 2-3 months for approx 60-90mins at a time. Please note this role does require you to be able to walk a distance of about 30-45min at a time.

About Guide Dogs for the Blind Association (The)

To provide guide dogs and other rehabilitation services that meets the needs of the blind and partially sighted people. Guide dogs want a world in which all people who are blind and partially sighted to enjoy the same rights, opportunities and responsibilities as everyone else.

Skills & Experience

The key criteria is to be Polish speaking with good verbal English language skills. The role also requires the volunteer to be able to walk a distance of about 30-45min at a time.

Travel Details

The role is based in Motherwell and would entail accompanying the Guide Dogs staff member and the Polish gentleman on a route around the local area by foot.
