Community Gardener
When We Need You
From 26/01/2012 onwards
About Opportunity
We are looking for people who are interested in joining in with gardening activities/maintenance and growing food. As most of the people involved work full time we are in need of support to help develop the project and the activities that we do. We have a range of skill sets already at the garden and like to learn from one another, so whatever your skill level you are more than welcome to come and help out and join the food growing community. • People with skills who would like to share them by doing demonstrations for example; how to prune fruit bushes, how to do divisions, how to look after vegetables etc. Could be a one off or on a more regular basis. • General maintenance tasks include watering, weeding, trimming, thinning, cleaning plant pots and tools, etc. • If you are new to gardening and want to give it a try before committing to taking on an allotment, or you want to learn new skills to take back and use in your own garden then our community garden is the perfect place to start! We provide tools, seeds and space for you to use. Please note - we are just a group of local people who have got together to develop this community garden, rather than a formal project with staff and structures. **HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?** If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us ideally by email or phone using the contact details on this page. Alternatively you can register your interest directly using the Register interest facility. If we have not responded within 5 working days please contact the Volunteer Centre.
