About Opportunity
To work, as and when required, with young people aged 16 - 18 yrs who have complex needs, to increase their literacy and/or numeracy skills. Undertake one to one sessions with young people to increase their literacy/numeracy skills; Design an Individual Learning Support Plan based on the individuals needs and goals; Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual’s needs and abilities; To uphold Barnardo’s basis and values; To adhere to Barnardo's policies and procedures; Maintain appropriate records; Participate fully in training and supervision.

About Barnardo's Axis Lanarkshire
Barnardo's Axis is a service for young people living within Lanarkshire, aged 16 – 18 years old, who are affected by their own, or someone else’s substance misuse and other related issues.
Skills & Experience
An appropriate professional Literacy qualification; Experience or an interest in working with young people with complex needs; Effective communication skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Dedicated, committed, reliability and good time keeping; Passion, compassion, understanding and open minded; Ability to set and keep clear guidelines and boundaries.
Travel Details
This post will be working with young people throughout North and South Lanarkshire areas.

An induction programme will be given along with a structured training programme throughout the year.
