About Opportunity
We would like to offer you the opportunity to apply for a volunteer position at the Play and Activity Scheme this year. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a large team of staff and volunteers to provide high quality, safe, fun, exciting, interesting and stimulating activities with the children whilst providing a break for families. The play and activity scheme will take place at Saltersgate school in Dalkeith where children can enjoy safe outdoor play areas, swimming pool, soft play and sensory rooms. The children will also have the opportunity to go on outings every week. The play and activity scheme will give you the opportunity to gain experience working with disabled children, as well as receiving relevent training and a full induction . The play and activity scheme will be delivered by Capability Scotland for the next three years.

Skills & Experience
Volunteers should have a sensitive and understanding nature, good communication skills, patience, enthusiasm and a sense of humour. A commitment to ensuring that confidentiality is maintained is essential.
Travel Details
The Play and Activity Scheme venue is Saltersgate School in Dalkeith. The Easter dates are 2nd-13th April 2012 (excluding bank holidays) and the Sumer dates are 9th July-3rd August 2012. Volunteers are asked to make their own way to the venue.

Frequency & Commitment
30 hours per week. 2 weeks and Easter and 4 weeks at Summer would be ideal however a minimum of 1 full week would be expected.
