About Opportunity
The minority Youth Group was established as a social group for young people from all ethnic backgrounds to come together in a fun environment and make new friends. The volunteer would assist the Project Worker with administration tasks which may include preparing session plans in arts/crafts/music/drama/cooking, researching places of interest for the group to visit, preparing excel spreadsheets, and attending meetings when required. They are also encouraged to assist in a leader capacity if they are interested, which helps the Volunteer build their confidence and experiences. Full support, guidance, training and supervision are provided.

About D&G Multicultural Association
Dumfries amd Galloway Multicultural Assocatoin was established in June 2003 to raise the profile of diversity and the different cultures in the area. It is an organisation open to all members of ethnic, religious and cultural minority communities in our region as well as organisations and individuals keen to promte diversity and cultural integration.

Travel Details
The administration would be conducted at D&G Multicultural Association in Dumfries. The Centre is based at Holywood Building just behind Marks and Spencers, so is easily accessible for bus/train travel and is not far from all day parking facility. Travel to the Centre will be paid for as per Volunteer Expenses Policy. However, some youth activity takes place at other local centres and transport can be provided or expenses reimbursed.

Training and Induction Details
The Volunteer would attend an informal chat initially anf then attend a full induction with the Cheif Executive Officer. This includes an orientation of the Association, followed by a session to discuss our Volunteer Policy.

Expenses are paid weekly. 40p per mile id given for own transport, bus/taxi fares are also reimbursed on production of receipts. £3 is given for lunch if volunteer works over 3 hours per day.
