About Opportunity
The role of the volunteers will be to support Health Centre users to access information on a wide variety of health, illness and related issues. It is to provide an integrated approach to the provision of information which will support service users and the public to make informed choices about their healthcare, healthy lifestyles. A volunteer's brief will include: • Engage with patients, members of the public and staff • Find out what sort of information or help they need • Assist in finding the most appropriate information to meet their needs ( leaflets, dvds, cds, internet ) • Use internet to access further information and sources of support via NHS accredited and approved sites • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate boundaries in relating with service users • Record face to face engagement • Keeping displays tidy and well-stocked • Assist with health events and campaigns • Attend and participate in trainings and meetings.
