About Opportunity

HopScotch is a Scottish Charity which provides free respite breaks for severely disadvantaged children living in Scotland. We work closely with organisations throughout Scotland such as Women's Aid groups, community projects and schools to identify children who are most in need of a break. The overwhelming majority of children we work with are young carers who care for close family members. They don't get the chance to play and form friendships like other children so a break at Ardvullin is their only opportunity to escape from the tensions of living with parentscoping with substance addiction, domestic violence and mental health problems. We employ a Project Worker who is based at Ardvullin and is responsible for the day to day running of our programme and for transporting groups of children to and from their homes. We currently have four board members and we are looking for at least two additional members ideally with PR, marketing, business or IT skills.
