About Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to come and work within our busy team of seven. the volunteer administrator will provide administrative support to three services that deal with women and their families who are fleeing from domestic abuse. The volunteer will work closely with the manager to determine the priorities of the role and there is scope for the volunteer to develop the role, this will be dependent upon their skills. The volunteer will be included in the day to day running of the office and will work closely with all members of staff in children's services, the refuse service and the LetsBsafe service. The volunteer will be included in staff training events and team meetings wherever possible.

Skills & Experience

The person will require an adaptable and flexible approach, they willl be organised, motivated and ideally have worked or volunteered in an office in the past. Knowledge of computer applications would be advantageous .

Travel Details

The opportunity happens in our Jedburgh office in the town centre. We are on bus routes and can provide funding for local travel including bus fare or mileage allowance.

Restrictions

Female volunteers. Due to providing support to women who are fleeing domestic abuse from partners and ex partners.

Training and Induction Details

Induction training will take place over 2 weeks (longer if required). The volunteer will learn the internal procedures and policies of BWA. The role will be explained and the volunteer will get to know the staff team and what their roles are.
