About Opportunity

To facilitate an established discussion/ writing group (6-10 members) which works at a pace and with subjects that engage a wide range of learners with varying levels of articulation. Responsibilities: - preparing subjects for discussion in advance - facilitating the group to ensure time is kept to and that all members have the opportunity to participate - helping members develop confidence and positive attitude about learning - respecting members and involving them in decisions - offering support and praise.

Skills & Experience

- To have good listening skills. - To be able to facilitate discussion around current topics and enable each person to contribute to the discussion. - Encouragement of 'homework' efforts. Members have a wide variety of written and oral abilities. - Provide non-invasive support to members who are less articulate, and encourage other members to provide this also. - Ensure everyone is listened to and their opinions are respected. - Encouraging tolerance and inclusiveness. - Encouraging enjoyment, praising efforts and improvements.

Travel Details

Craigowl Communities, 235-237 Hilltown, Dundee. The number 22 bus stops around the corner at both Alexander Street and Rosebank. We are a two-minute walk from either of these stops.

Application Form, Induction/Training, Informal Chat, Police Check, References, Trial Period

Training and Induction Details

You will be given inductions for health and safety and to CraigOwl as an organisation. The current facilitator will support you in the trial period to ensure you understand the role and expectations. Support will also be available on an ongoing basis.
