About Opportunity

You will be providing Independent Advocacy for children and young people who are discriminated against, and for parents of children who have additional support needs. The volunteer will be working for clients who have problems with public services, including Education, Social Work, NHS and Housing. Volunteers will meet with clients, will help them to form their own informed views, and will support them to present their views and to challenge professionals.

Skills & Experience

Volunteers will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a diplomatic approach to dealing with difficult situations.

Travel Details

The work will take place at locations across Lanarkshire, occasionally outside Lanarkshire, as and when required by clients. The Coatbridge office base is easily accessible by road and is on the 201 bus route and is close to Coatdyke train station (10 mins walk).

Expenses Detail

We pay public transport costs and reimburse volunteers every week. We pay car mileage expenses each month at 45p per mile.
