About Opportunity
Creative fundraising is a challenge for small organisations but it is essential to our survival and our ability to do good work for social change (see www.comas.org.uk). Comas is looking to establish a small team of volunteer fundraisers who will bring ideas and energy to developing fundraising activities which will help us to raise funds. The team will meet once a month for 2 hours to plan fundraising events and activities. Between meetings, the team will stage the events and activities, with each team member contributing to the team task. You will gain experience in: Events Management | Sponsored Activities | Team Work | Leadership | Communications & PR | administration | the inside track on how fundraising works You will bring: A regular commitment (approx. 3 hours / week but will vary according to programme of events and activities) Enthusiasm, good personal skills and confidence to contribute to team work

Skills & Experience
Volunteers in this role need to be confident to meet the public. Volunteers in this role must be comfortable with taking responsibility for specific tasks as an individual contributing to a team effort. Volunteers in this role will need to be reliable – once we have committed to a fundraising event we cannot afford to lose the money we have already invested.
Travel Details
The monthly meeting will take place in Comas office (currently Abbeyhill but moving to Holyrood in the new year) and fundraising activities will take place in and around Edinburgh. Public transport costs incurred while volunteering will be reimbursed.

Training and Induction Details
Volunteers will gain a full induction on the Comas work they are fundraising for. The fundraising team will engage in regular learning sessions on successful fundraising tools, techniques and activities.

Frequency & Commitment
3 hrs a week depending on events/activities. Times flexible, some fundraising events and activities during evenings and weekends. Monthly meeting of 3 hours last Tues of the month in the evening.
