Benefits Volunteer
When We Need You
From 01/02/2012 onwards
About Opportunity
As the progression of Motor Neurone Disease is very quick, a person's financial circumstances can change very rapidly and they may not know what benefits and services they can be entitled to or how to access these. The benefits volunteer will be required to either meet the clients in their own homes or at the drop in centre within MND Scotland's HQ and assist them with completing forms such as the blue badge, housing and council tax benefits or advising them of what services they are entitled to from their local authority. The volunteer will also be responsible for handing in the forms to the appropriate local authority office, showing original documentation and obtaining a receipt which has to be posted to the Welfare and Benefits Officer and then to hand deliver the original documentation back to the client again.
