About Opportunity
To visit people with MS in hospital, residential care or who are isolated at home (as requested). To provide emotional support (a listening ear) to people you visit. To adhere to health and safety guidelines on lone working. To identify any problem areas for the individual/family visited and refer to lead support volunteer.

Skills & Experience
Main skills needed by all members of the support team are: Good listening and communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to recognise limitations of role and own boundaries within that. Ability to adopt an objective rather than a personal perspetive. Ability to recognise and respect a diversity of views, attitudes and lifestyles. Ability to see someone's feeling and expeiences from their perspective (empathy). Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Travel Details
Support volunteers are required throughout Scotland but volunteers would be expected to work only in their own local area.

Training and Induction Details
4 day induction, training is spread out over 2/3 months.
