About Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for people who are willing to seek out fundraising opportunities within their local communities, and can build on their existing networks to make a difference to this much needed facility for the people of the Borders. You will need good communication skills, and the motivation and commitment to support other people who wish to raise funds for us. Basic IT skills are desirable, as is access to a pc. Some travel around your local area may be necessary. You may at times be required to handle cash. • Identify local fundraising opportunities and coordinate fundraising activities • Work with local community groups and organisations to identify opportunities to raise the profile of the appeal locally • Attend meetings, workshops and other events as required • Communicate with the project team and other volunteer fundraisers

About The Margaret Kerr Unit, Borders General Hospital

In recognition of the significant legacy left by Miss Margaret Kerr, a nurse who lived for many years in the Borders, the new unit will be named ‘The Margaret Kerr Unit’.

The project to build The Margaret Kerr Unit will be fully funded by charitable funds, and we are asking you to help us raise ‘the final million’ to make this wonderful unit a reality for the people of the Borders.
