This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the delivery of the Bikeability Scotland scheme in primary schools.
Bikeability Scotland is the name for multi-level cycle training in Scotland, designed to give the next generation the skills and confidence to ride their bikes safely.
Riding a bike for the first time is a rite of passage for many children; an enduring childhood milestone. It demands coordination, physical effort, perseverance and a little courage.
As a Cycle Training Assistant, you will be given full training and on-going support to help deliver instruction to children working towards their Bikeability badges.

About Argyll & Bute Council
The Road Safety Unit provides education, training and publicity for residents across Argyll and Bute. A huge amount of work is delivered through our primary schools. A full programme of activities and resources are available for schools to help children develop their road safety awareness. Practical training in the form of pedestrian training and cyclist training takes place giving children the chance to encounter real road situations in a controlled environment.

Frequency & Commitment
In most cases, cycle training takes place as part of the school day and therefore volunteers will need to be available for each training session, within curriculum time. Commitment level is approx. 1.5hrs per week for up to 10 weeks. Initial induction for new Trainers will take one full day
Minimum Age
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
