WOMEN ONLY SWIM GROUP LIFEGUARD
When We Need You
From 13/10/2011 to 13/01/2012
About Opportunity
We offer a closed, time limited group for women who want to go swimming, in a facility where there are no members of the public present, and in an environment which feels safe for those taking part. The group is supported by two facilitators and a lifeguard, who understand the women’s needs and concerns. A previous group member said “I found it a very safe and comfortable experience and well structured to help meet the needs of all with issues around confidence and self esteem; many would never have even tried at an open pool session. No-one felt judge or ashamed at their body image or scars. “ A facilitator reflected “You get to know the folk that take part, and they get to learn to trust you To see the change in people over the weeks is great. It lifts their mood, gives them a purpose to come out of the house.”
