When We Need You

From 12/09/2011 onwards

About Opportunity

Do you enjoy being part of your local community, knowing what's going on in your area and getting out and about to meet people?

We need volunteers who enjoy being in the thick of things.  Can you help us as we raise funds to support blind and partially sighted people in your area and throughout the UK.

What will I be doing?

This role will require you, one day per week, to visit local shops, churches, community centres and libraries or other outlets where we would be permitted to display posters and leaflets. You will visit these places regularly to ensure that RNIB materials are on display, are neat, tidy, and up to date and in a prominent position. Eventually you will build up a relationship will the shop/centre managers enhancing our public awareness in the area.

You will also help us by checking the local newspapers to watch for local organisations that are involved in charitable giving and pass this information on to your Community Fundraising Executive who will take the lead further with a view to writing to the organisation for support for RNIB.

About RNIB

RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) is the UK's leading charity offering information, support and advice to almost two million people with sight loss.  As a membership organisation we are dedicated to delivering services our members need and campaigning for their civil and welfare rights.  We support children and adults with sight loss to live full and independent lives.  Volunteers work with us to support blind and partially sighted people in a variety of locations across the UK.  We have over 100 different volunteering roles available which can be done from home, based at an RNIB Group office or out and about in the community.  Volunteering with us means that you will help even more blind and partially sighted people lead full and independent lives.
