About Opportunity
SLan CAN is a Zero Waste Volunteer Project to promote waste reduction activities in South Lanarkshire funded by Zero Waste Scotland. As a Zero Waste Volunteer you will be part of a team who will attend local events and meetings to help give presentations, run entertaining practical workshops, provide interactive activities and talk informally about: - Reducing food waste (Love Food Hate Waste). - Home composting. - Using Peat Free compost. - Reducing unwanted mail (Stop the Drop). You will have the opportunity to meet interesting people, visit interesting places, use existing skills, acquire new ones and be part of a team making a positive difference to the environment. Training will be provided and all travelling expenses reimbursed. All volunteers will receive the full support from the project co-ordinator.

About SLan CAN
Moffat CAN is a community-owned company and charity. Our aims are environmental protection, relief of poverty and, especially, carbon reduction. CAN stands for Carbon Approaching Neutral. CAN is working to achieve national and international targets on reducing climate change pollution in Southern Scotland.

No specific prior knowledge, experience or qualifications required.
Travel Details
The project will take place throughout South Lanarkshire. All travelling expenses will be reimbursed.

Induction/Training, Informal Chat
Training and Induction Details
One to two 4-hour initial training sessions depending on previous knowledge and experience. Followed by subsequent on going training and support from the co-ordinator and specialists from Zero Waste Scotland.
