About Opportunity

The information promotion volunteer will work in the friendly and relaxed Resource Centre providing an information service to people on services throughout Angus through the provision of leaflets, books, internet and campaign materials. The volunteer will enable people to make informed choices in their treatment and care by guiding them to resources that may be relevant to their enquiry as well as the factors influencing positive mental health and wellbeing.

Skills & Experience

The Angus Mental Health Resource Centre requires volunteers with the following skills, knowledge and experience: Essential • A basic understanding of mental health issues • Ability to listen and respect the support and guidance of staff and volunteers • Maintain high standard of service in all aspects of work • Commitment to Equal Opportunities • Commitment to personal development • Ability to follow and adhere to the resource centres policies and procedures Desirable • An understanding of recovery • Experience of team working • Competent in admin skills
