About Opportunity

The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society provides their volunteers with a chance to work with other like-minded individuals, to learn and develop new skills, gain exposure to the heritage and preservation of historical buildings in Glasgow and to contribute ideas to a thriving Arts organisation. In addition, volunteers are offered access to educational programmes and opportunities including rare works by Mackintosh and his contemporaries. Volunteer role will be to collect research and data for articles in the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society Journal; to brainstorm editorial concepts and themes; write articles for the Journal and assist in copy editing support. **HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?** If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. About Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society

The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society is an independent, non-profit making charity, established in 1973 to promote and encourage awareness of the Scottish architect and designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The Society has over 1600 members across the world with acitve groups in Glasgow, Bath, London and the SE, North of England and Japan, and an associate group in Port Vendres. In 1999, The Society became ownder and long-term custodian of the Mackintosh Church at Queen's Cross. Membership of the Society provides a unique opportunity to support the only church built to Charls Rennie Mackintosh's design.

The core aims of the Society are:

To support the conservation, preservation, maintenance and improvement of the buildings and artifacts designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his contemporaries.

To advance public education in the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh by means of exhibitions, lectures and productions of an educational nature and in furtherance thereof but not

Skills & Experience

Good working knowledge of basic computer programs, good research skills, interest in Heritage Preservation and Arts, ability to work independently and manage own workload, good written communication skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

The Mackintosh Church at Queen’s Cross, 870 Garscube Road, Glasgow G20 7EL Bus: No 40 and 61 from Hope Street at Central Station Underground: Alight at St George’s Cross then 15 minute walk through Cromwell Street into Maryhill Road

Training and Induction Details

The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society provides orientation and training for its volunteers. Volunteers will spend time with Society staff to improve their knowledge and better understand their particular role. Volunteers are encouraged to take advantage
