When We Need You
From 25/08/2011 onwards
About Opportunity
Put your gardening experience to good use by helping with the upkeep of the Concrete Garden. This is a great opportunity for horticultural students or recently qualified gardeners to learn new skills and gain practical horticultural experience in flower, fruit and vegetable cultivation. We would also welcome experienced gardeners. We need help around the garden with both maintenance and development. Concrete Garden (Charity no SCO34257) is a community space for growing fruit and vegetables in Possilpark. The garden is located on land reclaimed from industrial use and is designed in a modular system of grow boxes and bags made from recycled materials. We provide growing space and learning opportunities for local individuals, families and organisations. We're also used by local community groups for arts activities and therapeutic projects. We are looking for a number of volunteers to help keep this project running smoothly. If you have some time to help out and would enjoy being part of our team, meet new people and maybe pick up some new skills please get in touch. HOW DO I GET INVOLVED: contact us directly by email, phone or in writing or select REGISTER INTEREST now. We will then make arrangements to meet for an interview. If you do not hear back from us within 7 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. It should take around 3 weeks to start volunteering with us.
