About Opportunity
VCInvolve are looking for volunteers to become Volunteer Assistants who would be supporting volunteers in the West Dunbartonshire area. Our Volunteer Assistants will be working with volunteers who have a perceived barrier that has previously inhibited them from volunteering. The barriers are wide ranging and could include the volunteers having a physical/sensory impairment, learning disabilities/difficulties, criminal record, having English as a second language, etc. The role of the Volunteer Assistant would be to support the volunteers in undertaking their volunteering opportunity such as accompanying them to their opportunity and/or being with them while they undertake their 2 – 3 hours volunteering and/or meeting them regularly to discuss how they are getting on volunteering. All Volunteer Assistants will receive 4 weeks training from, and be supported in their role by, the Supported Volunteer Advisers as well as accessing relevant training
