Concrete Garden - Gardener/Workshop Leader
When We Need You
From 19/08/2011 onwards
About Opportunity
Combine your gardening skills with your desire to help others in the community by teaching and supporting our gardeners as they learn to look after their own plots, and the rest of the garden. Pass on your skills and knowledge to our learner gardeners by planning and delivering workshops (with our support!) and work with them to achieve the best from their individual plots. Concrete Garden (Charity no SCO34257) is a community space for growing fruit and vegetables in Possilpark. The garden is located on land reclaimed from industrial use and is designed in a modular system of grow boxes and bags made from recycled materials. We provide growing space and learning opportunities for local individuals, families and organisations. We're also host to local events such as the Winter COAT festival and used by local community groups for arts activities and therapeutic projects. HOW DO I GET INVOLVED: contact us directly by email, phone or in writing or select REGISTER INTEREST now. We will then make arrangements to meet for an interview. If you do not hear back from us within 7 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. It should take around 3 weeks to start volunteering with us.

About Depot Arts Co
Depot Art Co (Charity No SCO34257) is a North Glasgow based community arts project providing creative workshops predominately for young people aged 5-25yrs. We are also currently developing new work with young parents and families. We work to increase the opportunities for young people to engage in cultural and creative activities as a means of enhancing their own life chances and transferable skills.
We run taster events, workshops programmes, assist with wider initiatives and lead on a youth arts volunteering project.
Our workshop programme covers a variety of art forms including drama, dance, circus, visual arts, music, movement, digital media and film.
