About Opportunity

We are looking for volunteers to engage primary school aged children living in the Niddrie House area of Edinburgh. We aim to offer them stimulating and educational experiences in the youth clubs. The children are full of energy and can be quite challenging but you will have the support of staff and other volunteers. The sessions will happen partly at the Jack Kane Centre and partly on various trips to places such as the ice rink and Ratho Adventure Centre. Bike Club – 4pm to 6pm on Monday; Art/Photography Group – 4pm to 6pm on Thursday; Intermediate Youth Club - 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Thursday; Junior Youth Club - 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Friday.

About Niddrie Community Youth Group at Hunters Hall Housing Co-op

Hunters Hall Housing Co-op provides housing and community services to 220+ tenants/members in the Niddrie House area of Edinburgh. We facilitate a range of children's and youth clubs throughout the week. We design the activity programme together with participants and aim to create stimulating and educational experiences. We currently offer the following children's/youth groups: Junior Youth Club - 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Fridays Intermediate Youth Club - 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Thursdays Senior Youth Club - 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Mondays Art/Photography Group - 4pm to 6pm on Thursdays Bike Group - 4pm to 6pm on Mondays

Skills & Experience

Must like children, have a sense of humour and a positive attitude. Experience of working in children's clubs/ youth work is desirable. Ability to participate in games, sports and other physical activities.

Travel Details

Niddrie. The number 14 bus terminus is minutes from the Hunters Hall office and the Jack Kane Centre. Number 2, 21 and 30 buses also stop nearby.
