About Opportunity
Help to broaden the opportunities and experiences available to an adult with a learning disability. This is a chance to truly enhance the quality of someone's life by giving them your time and valuable 1-1 attention. Befrienders and service users are matched according to interests and personality - you will be taking part in social activities together, for example visits to the cinema, football, swimming or attending music concerts. Not only will you be enjoying activities together, but also enjoying each other's company. Each befriending match is unique, but you can be assured the relationship you build will enhance lives. **HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?** If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. Alternatively you can register your interest directly using the Register Interest facility. We will then arrange to send an application form to you. If you do not receive a response within 10 working days please contact the Volunteer Centre. It should take around 4-6 weeks to start volunteering with us, dependant on receipt of PVG scheme membership.
