About Opportunity
Could you be the warm, welcoming face that makes members feel comfortable when they first come to our events? It can be hard to make new friends and people are often shy when they first join, your role would be to facilitate introductions and interactions and support members as they build relationships. dates-n-mates is a friendship and dating agency for people with learning disabilities, we are about connecting people and introducing them to new and exciting things. We run 3 to 4 different social events every month such as discos, movie nights, days out, theatre trips and many more. In addition we hold bigger events throughout the year such as Valentine, Easter, Summer, Halloween and Christmas parties. Attendance at our nights can can vary from 20 to 200 members. HOW DO I GET INVOLVED: If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. Alternatively you can register your interest directly using the Register Interest facility. We will respond to all enquiries within 5 working days, but if you do not receive a response, please contact the Volunteer Centre. The next step is that we will arrange to send you an application form by email. It should take around 4-6 weeks to start volunteering on us, timing dependant on processing PVG scheme membership.
