About Opportunity
The post involves picking the older people up from their home and bringing them to the church hall in Portobello High Street. You will pick the bus up from L.C.T.S. in the Harry Lauder Road (off Milton Road) about 9.30 am and drive to the hall where two volunteers will be waiting to go on the bus to help the older people from their home. After you return to the hall it should be between 11.15 am and 11.30 am. You can take the bus home and come back about 2.15 pm to take the older people back home. You then return the bus to the depot.

About Portobello Older Peoples Project
This project is for the frail and elderly in the Portobello area. The project meets Tuesday and Wednesday every week from 10.00am – 2.30pm. The aim of the project is to get the older people out of their homes and meet other people. The project has a varied programme of activities and outings with the help of volunteers.

Start-up induction/training provided. Training given on how the project works, how to handle the older people & fire procedure. We also have to keep up to date with any changes made by the City Council.
