About Opportunity

We are looking for someone to serve on our board of directors to provide strategic support to the senior management and staff team, The project currently runs 6 days per week offfering generic youth work, dedicated educational group work, one to one support, family support and arts, sports and activities programmes. These services are delivered in the neighbourhoods of Ruchill, Cadder and Wyndford/ Summerston in North Glasgow. **HOW DO I APPLY?** Contact us by email, phone, in writing, in person/ click the REGISTER INTEREST button on the right. About North United Communities Ltd

The aim of the organisation is to provide a range of supports and services for children, young people and families. These service users live in the bottom 15% most deprived areas of Scotland, as recognised by the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. The organisation delivers the following programmes: Educational group work Family support Employment and training advice and support Sports and recreational activities, including holiday programmes Street work and outreach work One to one advice and support

Skills & Experience

The volunteer would need to have the following skills and attitudes: An understanding of poverty and how this affects families and communities A desire to effect positive change in the lives of those most vulnerable or disadvantaged in society A range of skills and experiences that could be used to run a social enterprise/ business Be innovative, have a good communication skills and enjoy working with a wide range of people

Travel Details

The opportunity will happen in North Glasgow where our organisation delivers its services. However the committee meet monthly in the Ruchill Community Centre (Post Code G20 9NF)
