About Opportunity

Volunteers will have the opportunity to work within a small team striving to bring play and the use of imagination back to children across Dundee. They will have the opportunity to work in schools, parks and local communities with children aged 5 – 13. The main focus of the volunteer’s work will be helping the Play Development Worker to deliver free play sessions on and outside the Play on Wheels vehicle.

About Play On Wheels

We deliver 'Free Play' play sessions to primary school age children across the city of Dundee through the use of a mobile vehicle. We want children to decide what and how they play in and around the POW vehicle. We provide opportunities, resources and a space for play and guidance if needed.

Skills & Experience

An interest in working with children. Good interpersonal skills and time keeping essential. Friendly and able to work in a child centred manner.

Travel Details

The opportunity will happen across the City of Dundee with the occasional journey to other areas of Scotland.

Application Form, Induction/Training, Informal Chat, Police Check, References, Trial Period

Training and Induction Details

Volunteers will receive support from the Play Development Worker and help when applying for new jobs. To meet the needs of the individual, training will be provided in any area that the person feels would benefit their future needs.

Frequency & Commitment
